Many districts built their initial professional development offerings for educational technology around the learning of software programs, but 20 years later there is evidence that such "training" does not successfully recruit the majority of teachers or show them how to manage learning in their classrooms with these tools. New forms of professional development have emerged that emphasize problem-based activities. The assumption is that teachers must first learn how to do the learning themselves before they can manage to change their daily classroom practice. In this module, you and your partners will spend 30 minutes browsing through the modules of a three day workshop designed at introduce teachers to engaged learning with a blend of new tools with classical resources.
